TRANSMISSION LINE PROJECT
New Transmission Line and Substation Expansion
Duke Energy is committed to providing customers with reliable, safe and increasingly clean energy. We’re improving our transmission infrastructure, the backbone of our state’s energy system – powering communities and helping to build the smarter, cleaner energy future that customers want.
As part of this commitment, we plan to begin construction of a 5.2-mile new transmission line in 2022 to strengthen electric grid operations and enhance reliability in communities we serve in southern Pasco and northern Pinellas counties. The new transmission line along with substation improvements are among several projects in the region that will improve service to our customers.
